Julie Ward Lecture – Cherishing our Children, A spiritual perspective

WHY: How can we best support the children of the world? National speaker Julie Ward says, “In my own experience I’ve found that prayer for my own children and for the children of the world has brought solutions and healing to our lives.”

WHAT: In Ward’s talk, “Cherishing our children” she references the original sourcebook on Christian healing, the Bible, along with Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, a book of universally applicable ideas on practical spirituality.

“In this talk I will explore basic points about praying for children that will be helpful for parents, grandparents, teachers, and all those who love and support children. Each point is supported by an example from my own experience as a parent praying for my children,” says Ward. “I will also explore how prayer can help us to lift up freshness, innocence, and spontaneity in our own thinking.”

WHO: From childhood, Julie Ward loved to dance. She danced with a small regional company and eventually became its associate director and choreographer. She taught jazz and ballet to everyone from the tiniest little ones to the professional class. Dancing taught her to value discipline, obedience, and persistence—foundational qualities for the practice of Christian Science. Friends and family began asking her to pray for them and her healing practice was born. Ward is now a full-time practitioner and teacher of Christian Science healing. As member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, Ward travels from her home in Atlanta, Georgia.
